TAM, together with its partners in the UK, France and Belgium, is active in the transportation of nuclear materials worldwide. Safety and compliance is our priority and we have the expertise to ensure that your shipments are moved under the strictest controls meeting the regulatory requirements of the various countries involved.

We have the expertise to co-ordinate the most efficient transportation methods for movement of these sensitive commodities from origin to destination. Due to the high volume of these transports under TAM’s responsibility, we can offer both efficiency and cost effectiveness.

Charter Vessels for Special Needs

We currently handle charter vessel shipments Trans-Atlantic with efficient tie-down systems for up to 154 natural UF6 cylinders per vessel. As well, we can offer differing vessel size and quantity options for all fuel cycle materials to meet the specific needs of the nuclear industry participant.

Provision of Specialized Equipment

TAM and its partners can offer specialized sea transportation equipment for the transport of natural and enriched UF6. We can provide tie-down systems for charter vessel shipping and LASH barge shipping. We also have specialized flatracks for the conventional liner movement of both natural and enriched UF6.

We can also offer rental of UX30 overpacks for enriched UF6 and Composite Thermal Protection Devices (CTPs) for Type 48Y natural UF6 cylinders.

TAM International offers to nuclear industry participants, a unique level of expertise in radioactive transportation logistics both throughout North America (road, rail and intermodal) as well as expertise in the worldwide transportation and handling of radioactive commodities. This expertise is supplemented by extensive knowledge in the transportation of non-nuclear commodities.

TAM performs in-house evaluations of nuclear industry participants’ transportation needs and their current methods of servicing these needs in order to identify areas of opportunity for improvements in safety, utilization and cost efficiency.
